When I add algae discs the will either sit & start growing things or get eaten. The back of the package on mine says that any uneaten portion should be removed within 12-24 hours.
It also depends on the suction of the downtube. Mine filters 150 gpm & I never have anything floating. Even when I have a casuality he gets stuck to the dowtube. I get alot of plant matter stuck to the tube & alot inside the filter on the pads. I always go overboard on filter though.
What kind of loach, other the clown loaches will eat snails? I love Clowns but I have no luck with these guys. I've killed 3 sets now. Anything that might be a little more hearty & eat the snails would be more then welcome in my tank. :dunno:
I like the TetraTec models for that same reason. Keeps things nice & Clean. Internal Heater that you don't have to hang off the back thats heating the water as filtered.
My Tigers had a bad case of ich which went into fungus. I had heard to do the same--raise temp add salt & I used meds. the Oxygen got so low from that combo I almost suficated them. I added a air stone & pump. I got that a little late & unfortuently fungus got them one by one. :(
I put a new rock in the tank today. It's a fake with an Air tube inlet. It lets the air out right at the surface so it creates a lotmore surface area ie more oxy for the guys. They are a lot more active then before. I don't know wheather their more active cause the large new rock draws them up...
My buddies Pictus Cat lost a whisker either rubbing on a rock or bitten off by a Chiclid. It's growing back slowly. I don't know if this translates to your Cory but I would think it would grow back slowly.
Make Sure you check your water levels. my buddy put in a real nice piece of wood, it spiked his nitrites & amonias. It turned out to be a Lizard wood instead of Fish Wood. Fish got poisened. Good thing Cichlids are sturdy fish. Not one had any ill effects.
Okay I must have a Mutant Clown or something. :alien: He has been in my tank for a little longer then a week now & he always feeds on top, usually swimming on his back while he sucks in as much food as he can. I have given the sinking pellets but those usualy sit & rot or sometimes eaten by my...
Thank you for understanding. I felt the exact same way. :/ I came home feeling bad that I could help the situation not that bad that I didn't get the job. I feel bad for all the animals in their that are not being looked after properly. They also showed me their containment area wear the kept...
