There are so many fish forums out there, but after some consideration, this one seemed the best.
I used to manage a pet store back in the day and I recently got the aquarium bug again.
I noticed on my latest trip to the pet store that methods and livestock have changed.
So I'm here to ask questions, if you don't mind.

most of my tanks were built in 20 ish years ago... been sitting for for most of that, began starting them up, a year or two ago... I had a lot of questions... biggest changes in equipment were heaters & lights... but the actual keeping of fish has changed a lot in 20 years

It didn't change a bit. I'm still keeping mine under water !

Nothing changed regarding fish keeping. The tools available to achieve the goals have greatly evolved.

But The time to establish an aquarium have not really changed in practice.

I Still have to look at an empty tank a long time before I find it "suitable".
