Zoos In Complete Darkness

I was just wondering how long zoas can survive without light. I need to pass the health inspections in my dorm, so im planning on just putting all my fish into the closet for like a week, im sure my betta will be fine, but im worried about my coral going without flow and light

Let's put it this way. In my old twenty gallon (now replaced by a thirty-three) the rock was packed in. I found a bunch of zoas in an unreachable cave and I didn't want to tear apart the tank. Just said "I'll get them the next time something dies".

At least two weeks later nothing had died but I did need to clean the powerhead that was nestled in the rock. I managed to get a hold of the zoas and placed them in a lighted area. They were open in less than an hour.

Light they can tolerate being without for prolonged periods... But flowrate loss of flowrate and un-controlled temperature will kill them.

hardy bastards, mine were closed for 3 and a half weeks and only like one head died of a colony of like 30-40...

what about using a battery and power invertor for atleast the flow and temp?

Thanks guys, they went for a few days without flow or water. I guess these things are tougher than we think they are
