Zebra pleco with ich?

Hi,

Just a quick question really, I was concerned if or not my new zebra pleco (mail order) had ICH, as it has little white marks on it, but im guessing as this fish is hairy its normal, I had a look on Planet catfish and noticed the picture of this one the same

I hope that its because they are hairy....?

I don't quite understand your question, however, they are covered in thosands of tiny spines, I suspect the white spots are just small particles of gravel or sand that got traped on transit, if they have not gone within a few days then I would start to worry.

These sound like normal odontes, they are probably more noticeable because the dark bands may have paled due to the stress of shipping, new tank etc.

I wouldnt worry too much yet, but raise the temp to around 84F/28C for the next few days and see if anything develops.

Would really like to know where you mail ordered him from, as i would like to introduce Zebra Pleco to my aquarium,i haven't been able to find any local.

Was the mail order company good?

Yeah no worries I got it from http/www.trimar.co.uk/

I'm not sure if they have anymore in stock (Monty, the owner said that there was only 15 this week)

It cost all in all £70 but worth it lovely looking pleco

It should tell you on the tropical section of the site if they have any in stock
