Do zebra and nugget plecos do well in community tanks? Im thinking of getting 1 of each and putting them in a community tank. But before I do that, I need to make sure if they will do ok. Will they? I sure hope so. They're both such gorgeous fish.

Is it a bad Idea, or should I give it a try? I really really want them. My community tank is only going to have some gouramis, sharks, and other catfish, the rest are undecided.

not being nasty - but zebras are not a fish for beginners - they are quite fussy fish that are also quite sensative.
I know I still dont want to think about loosing one once i've got them
Thankyou for the advice I guess I'll have to wait and see what happensmellowserra said:Like many other fish, individual personalities of plecos can vary widely. Not to deter you, but I have a Gold Nugget (L081) and I think he may be a small terror. He constantly torments an L260 twice his size, and I have also caught him taking a few charges at my ghost knife... in a heavily planted 75 gal tank with lots of hidey caves.
Gold Nuggets can be territorial bottom dwellers, temper this with your current tank stock. Many people keep them without problems.
