could someone tell me if zebras are dangerous to smaller fish? i know they dont eat much in the way of algae and prefer a meaty diet but would it include fish smaller than itself and would it actively hunt them down?
thanks

Zebra plec as in L046 (Hypancistrus zebra) ? :dunno:

If that's what you mean, then no - they will not hunt down smaller fish - as they stay relatively small themselves at around 3".
They are omnivorous and tends to prefer meaty foods, but does eat green foods. Not really an algae eater.

Oh, and if those are the fish you mean, they are best of in a species tank and ideally part of a breeding project.

Especially since they're no longer being exported. Breed as many as you can for the trade if you got them.

thank you so much for the replies. it seems to be the one in the pic bloozoo2, alas its not mine.
