I've been wanting a Betta for the longest time, but for some reason I've never gotten around to actually getting one. Today I was at PetSmart and kept eyeing them but still came home without one. I was talking to my girlfriend and told her that I'd really been thinking about getting a betta, so 20 minutes later we were on our way to PetSmart and we picked up Yuki! He was very lively, so I chose him. When I got him home I was surprised to see his colors! Since he was in the treated water at the petstore he looked solid blue to me. It was a nice surprise to see he was much more colorful than I had expected. Well, here are some pictures.

He took to his new home very quickly, I expected him to be stressed out but instead he seemed very content. I bought him some Hikari pellets because I read that was a good brand, so I hope they are good for him. I also have frozen blood worms because I feed them to my frogs, are they good for the Betta too?

bloodworms will bring out his best colours, its a nice looking betta

Aww, hes pretty! I saw your thread on Pet Talk (I'm chrissycat21 ont here) and didn't have time to reply.

He looks a little like my betta. Is he living with your ADFs?

No, he has his own tank. I thought about housing them, but I didn't want to put any of them in danger. My ADFs get a little aggressive around feeding time and get rough with each other, so I worry that they might harm Yuki's fins. I've also heard that a lot of times Bettas can get aggressive with the ADFs and make a dinner out of their little frog legs. Plus I like having two different tanks, it really livens up my apartment.
