i wouldnt buy it

i would get a more known name like the tetratec or the eheim range

For a canister they are more of a mechanical filter than a biological filter due to the flow rate. This can be good or bad, depending on your individual situation. I've found they are prone to leakage from the seals.

I too have heard good and bad and would stick with a name brand for a more overall filtration.
