Sometimes I wonder all of you who did breed betta, how is your first time breeding betta without experience in breeding? How many you end up? Did all dead or all survive or how many? What kind of betta are they too?
Do post your 1st spawn experiences only and even if there is failures occurs. This could help some people to understand what it is like and how frustrating it can be to raise them, but it will also fills your heart with joy when you suceed. I think this statistic well help for the future of newbies too what they going to expect and think twice.
So here I am going to start mine. I got a ( dying freebie male been torn apart tail so badly) halfmoon turquoise male and with a copper halfmoon female(4 rays only got fool by a breeder telling me it is a halfmoon). I got more than 500 in the beginning hatching but end up 3 become adults. It is a long journey with high hope and with depressing sad. At that time, I am not in any betta forums at all and I was just at flowerhorn forum that are totally different in breeding. I have no help at all if I got it wrong and only email from the breeders. I have to think quick and figure out myself. I did read and read mostly everyone betta web that I can find in internet. Get books about betta. Talk to breeders and getting more informations but everyone have different opinions and it gives me too over whelming. So i tried it out with my bettas the first time pair and then so happy to see all the babies survive. But seeing the babies dying, just don't know what to do and trying to do my best what is it going on since I have read so many people web about betta breeding. Digging out in a hell of breeding tank and only left 8 babies that were half an half dying. I quickly get aged water into a new tank, but the babies still one by one dying inside the new tank. I thought all dead at the end but light did give me back my happiness. There is still 3 babies survived. Follow too many breeders idea and they don't work for me right either. Therefore, although I read what they said about breeding, I kind of fail and what did I do wrong here. In most of breeders web, they said be prepare if all the frys not going to make it and always gamble because I don't have experience. I realized finally I fed more food with all kinds to the babies than what they needed perday. So from that onward, I used hard boil egg yolk only in the first seven days. Sometimes I use it if the BS didn't got in time. Still I have golden pearls standing by especially for the babies in a month old. That is my stories.![Big Grin :D :D](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
