Weeeelllllll...... I'm worried about my 3 ADF's. I don't really know if they're getting enough food! -_- I was trying to feed my first guy, who's in the 10 - frozen bloodworms, and he never ate them, fish always got them. So I finally gave up, and after not seeing him for months, I figured he died. However, recently he has shown up and seems to be doing fine!

I also have two lil guys in the 6 gallon - dunno if they're eating either. I'm worried about this, because I can't tell if they're too skinny or not! I see frogs in the store who are just hugely fat, but I'm thinking they might be Clawed frogs... My biggest ADF's shoulders are wider than his stomach/hips... are yours like this? I don't want them to starve. Could anyone describe how yours look? Mine are skinny minnies I think... or maybe it's normal and I'm paranoid. :dunno:

Also - what do y'all feed them? I realize that some of yours eat flakes, how did you teach them to do this? If you didn't teach them..... lol you're no help, cuz my froggies aren't interested, as far as I can see. ;) I can't seem to get frozen bloodworms to them either, the fish are just huge pigs no matter what I do as distractions. Any brands/types of are helpful. Thanks!

Have you tried live phoods or brine? Seems to be the only thing some fish/creatures eat.

Mine eats flake that falls to the bottom, bloodworm and guppy fry. He doesn't have a lot of competition for the food though. He shares the tank with Whoopie, my serpae tetra with swim bladder disease :D

i feed my clawed frog frozen bloodworm, tetra delica bloodworm and daphnia, tetra reptomin it says on the packaging for terrapins, turtles, newts and african frogs

I have the same problem with my ADF. I have no idea how he survives. I have had regular frogs that ate flakes but my ADF will not touch them. The only thing he will eat is frozen blood worms which he rarely gets because there is a school of zebra danio in the tank with him and they are crazy at feeding time. Every few weeks I get worried that he will starve to death and then I get some salad tongs and grab some blood worms with them. First I throw some flakes in the tank to distract the danio's then I lower the tongs with blood worms down to the bottom and dangle them in front of the frog. He will eat every single one, but he will not come to the surface to feed. He is absolutely spoiled and I've no one to blame but myself. Soooooo, if you do find a better way to feed these guys let me know too. Or you could just join me in my insanity and start hand feeding your frog also.

Hi juliethegr8te :)

IMHO, the little dwarfs are best kept by themselves. I have 2 that get along quite nicely in one gallon of water. I keep them in a mayonnaise jar that I got for free at a deli. It has a wide mouth and a cover to keep them from jumping out. I have some gravel and a little cave and it's rather cozy.

These little guys are bottom feeders and the food needs to get down there for them to eat. I feed mine HBO Frog and Tadpole Bites which sink. They look like big poppy seeds. They also like bloodworms or tubiflex worms.

People seem to have a lot of problems with these little creatures, but they are actually easy to keep, so I put a link in my signature that might help. Please click on it and if you have any more questions, just ask.

Let me know it this is helpful, please. -_-
