A few days ago I got 2 young BN Plecs for my tank (at the moment they are both about 1 inch long)

I introduced them to my tank (currently has 6 Cory and 4 Platy) and they seem fairly happy, swimming around and sticking to various things. However they only seem to be eating the algae off the back of the tank / plants / bogwood. I tried putting some Cucumber in for them and they both found it but werent really interested. I have also tried sinking catfish / pleco pellets which are almost instantly hoovered up by the Cory before the BN even realise they are there. I know they do eat Algae but I was wondering are they ok with just algae while they are so young? or if there are any special tricks I can use to make sure the BN get to the front of the food queue ahead of the Cory?

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give :)

Courgette, never met a bn that didnt like it, pop it in just before lights out, take out the remains in the morning, they will soon catch on.

Do you blanch the cucumber before putting it in?

cucumber has less nutritional value than courgette, blanching it will take out even more

Thanks for the replies guys, I got some Courgette today so I will see how that goes. The two BN seem to be pooping all over the place, so I assume they must be getting a decent amount of food off the algae anyway ;)
