What do you do all day?

I work in TV and I'm the last man in the building that can change what you see at home and am the one responsible for rolling commercial breaks on time, makeing sure the next days list of programmes/promos/commercials is going to play out ok. It's 12 hour shifts working a total of 1 in every 2 days so after holiday I'm at work just 162 days a year :D I've been doing it since I finished my last A level exam (18) and cover live business news and live Premiership football.

What about you?

I do real man's work...HR for a global cosmetics company...

With so many others also sitting on the dole unable to get work staying in education might be the best thing if you can't find something. I hated education too but that was 8 years ago when the world was a slightly different place.

what are you taking at the moment?

Biology, Chemistry and Physics, I really don't want to go to University, I don't fancy the debt, if I do it'll be after I've taken a year out, I just want to get a job and learn to drive the longer I'm in education the longer that will take, honestly I'd take any job right now given the chance, but most places blow you off for being at college and having no experience. This country is crap for young people.

i have just got a new job, i'm now a charge nurse on a cardio respiratory ward.

It's not this country, it's the way things are. Why would a company take a chance on someone with no experience when they can take someone with several years? With the economy like it is they can get experienced people for less than they could 3 years ago so there is no benefit to taking people straight out of school.

Your best bet might be some kind of trade apprenticeship but for someone taking Biology, Chemistry and Physics that's probably not on your radar.

I've got a Level 3 diploma in Engineering too, so getting a trade apprenticeship wouldn't be that bad.

Tail gunner on a bread truck, need that in Chicago.
