here is the threaad why I am getting them and becoming to like these little buggers, anywho, should I get 3 or just 2? I plan on buying at least 2 putting one in my 5.5 gallon to clear the snail populus out and in a weeks time moving it to my 55 gallon. I will put the other to start with in the 55. I saw some at the fish store at lunch and they are mine. but I didnt want to get 2 many or to few. thanks for any advice. Also I read where clown locahes like cucumber and the like will they eat that stuff also? I like the clowns but dont like how big they get. Yo Yos sound more my speed  I feed weekly cucmbers to my ottos and plecs, if the yo yos eat them then they get a bonus :D

Hey,
I've got a 55gal with three yo-yo's and the whole gang usually works together. Haven't seen a snail in years, except the ones I throw in as treats (found a good use for my 5 gal, snail farm).

With that said I'd say if you can get three that might be your better route. As I have had a tank with only 2 and they weren't nearly as active, but on the flip side the crew in my 55 had a yo-yo go missing in action and they didn't seen bothered and then let the replacement join without aproblem. Just watch that they aren't too aggressive towards your cory's.

 not my cories, I have read they are peaceful....I hope they get along with them, I already purchased them....I do have a skunk botia and he is a mean bugger, but is hidden most of the time....so far they look like they get along....

3 is better then 2. Most Botias are somewhat aggressive, Yo-Yo's are at the more docile end of the range, Skunk Botias are notorious agro though. And yes, they do like to eat green food.
