Hello everyone,
Today while watching my Yo-Yo Loach I noticed that he was acting odd. Swimming really fast than stopping and slamming his body into the ground than he would do this again. He noticed me watching and came up to the glass and it seemed like he was almost asking for help. Could it be some kind of parasite that is bugging him. I looked all over his body but couldnt see a thing. Just a few days ago I ended up putting a Bala shark from that tank in a q-tank because i noticed at the base of all his fins, where it connects to his body, it was red and looked like blood under the skin. On the same side of his body his gills are also very inflammed and red and he cant close it all the way. The same side of his mouth is also red and looks kinda lopsided. I have no idea what is wrong with the bala shark, but could it be related to what is happening to my Yo-Yo? All the other fish in the tank are fine. I tested the water levels with a master kit that i bought and everything is fine. I would appreciate it if anybody knew what is wrong and what kind of meds to use.

when you say evrything is fine on your water test, what exactly are the params?
pH = ?
Ammonia = ?
no2 = ?
no3 = ?

flicking could be an indication of a skin fluke or that something in the water is irritating the fish, or any number of other problems.
please tell us exactly what symptoms you have observed, anything that is not normal behaviour,
Gasping, lethargy etc.

I believe yoyos and similar loaches can flash on the substrate like that when nitrate levels are high. The redness on your bala shark could be due to poor water quality as well.

Posting the stats that The-Wolf asked about, or at least your water change schedule and stocking levels if you don't have a full set of test kits, would help determine if water quality is an issue in your tank.
