Yet another stocking question

2.5g rectangular tank
heated to ~78F
Whisper mini filter

Current inhabitants:
1 male betta
6 stems of Dwarf Hygrophila

Are there any legitimate tankmates for this situation.

Even little corys or otos are out because I'd need 3+ for them to be happy.

1 shrimp?
1 snail?
1 small (~1") SAE (temporarily)?

I guess I'm looking for a cleaner that the betta can interact with (occasionally, but not often).

you could have a snail (make sure its NOT an apple snail)
one of our members has an apple snail as big as their fist, and over a pound heavy that just crushed her betta!

OR

ghost shrimp
i have never kept my ghost shrimp with my betta but i heard that they make good tank mates, hmmmmmmm.... maybe i'll try and tell ya how it goes
i just hope that my betta doesn't think he's live food

if you do decide on ghost shrimp then you should have a small cave for him to hide in when he sheds (he will be very vulnerable)

you could even have a couple of ghost shrimp
they don't make a big mess so they don't follow the 1" per gallon rule and they barely get an inch!
