i know those are only pics of his head! i can get better pics another day (i've stressed them enough for today). but his colour seems to change as his body turns to tail to a lighter colour. does that sound crazy?

all help massively advised, also links so i know what i've got other than a name and i'll send you a christmas card next year k?

thanks in advance

(i can tell he's going to a common or something after all that, just his colour is quite light)

I can't see the pic, I even tried lightining it up in photoshop. Sorry

hahaha doh!

can you generally tell from the colour or does each fish have it's own tell tale signs?

he's about 3" long. very stubby face as you can see. the colour gets a bit less down towards his tail

i've highlighted the 1st pic with red to show where the fish is. i'll see if i can get another pic though

Hi,

Have you looked at www.planetcatfish.com in the catalogue ? Whatever it is it should be there, the pic is too blurred to tell, though it does show your cory well :D

Emma :)

*sob* the problem is he's either upside down on some bogwood or he's no where to be found!

argh i'll look through planet catfish and see what i can find, my camera is AWFUL

Is he striped, spotted or has mottled or plain skin coloration? Is the color his head comes up in the pic accurate?

the pictures are an accurate dipiction of his colour. apart from where i've highlighted his body shape to counteract my awful camera.

this is the best pic i've got

this is a highlighted version to show his body size relative to his fin

and this is his bum and his impressive fin

I'd say he's a sailfin and if so he can grow up to 18" so i hope its a big tank.

cheers ferris, he's in a 24g so i'll be looking for swapsies with someone soon, maybe

not that i distrust ferris' judgement can someone else verify this please!

this is me clutching at straws

link to sailfin info please?

Hi, if you go to Tropical Chit Chat page 2, topic "A Maintenance Schedule",I have posted some new pictures of my Common/Sailfin Pleco. You might be able to see if yours is similar. I don't want to post the pics again as it might be annoying to people! Hope that helps. :)

he's neither of those morgan. i've looked at the sailfin pics on planet catfish and i don't think he's got the same colouration/markings as commons or sailfins.

the fact he's orangey is strange enough to me

i really want to know if i'm going to have to rehome him if he gets too big, i don't really want to play at catching a footlong pleco instead of a 4" one

I'm going to go out on a limb here - even though i cant ID it for definate - Its not a common or a gibby - Its definatly a smaller plec (4/5" max size)

I'll work on an ID after some food ;)

ok... I havent had food yet - I had a look at this instead.

I'm going to say that it is a well coloured mature Clown Plec ;)

is it fury on the back half like this one? If so, Its a male ;) - If not its female.
