New to this forum and yet This is my second post in here, noticed something wrong with my beta (Digi), I've had him for nearly a year now and this is the first issue I've had with him,

We moved him from his small tank which I've setup as a temporary hospital tank.
1.5 Gallons
Aqueon whisper (mini one)
heater
Live and fake plant, and a betta leaf

A few days ago I had an issue with a heater and it threw the temp up to 100degrees while i was asleep.
He is still alive and becoming a tad more active since, but ever since I've gotten him he's been a passive betta.
He is now in a 29 gallon community and I've noticed some fin rot on the caudal fin, or what I assume to be it, and potentially ick on his anal fin
What would be a proper treatment procedure? This guy is my buddy and I wanna do what i can to help him!

Digi

Certianly looks like finrot :/

is he in the 1.5 gal now? with mature media i take it?

i'd recommend doing 50% daily water changes for a week, clean water and a good stable diet works wonders on fin regrowth, he 'should' fight off the fin rot without treatment :good:

PS Digi is lovely :)

whaaa, my betta actually has that brown stuff all over his stomach and chin:C i bought him from petco like that and i didnt notice until the next day:[

Don't that brown is anything to worry about, just his color, it's the fins though that I was talking about

ahh, its the same color as the one under your betta's picture, he's fine i think, he recently just bit off my angel fish's dorsal fin:[ so i had to remove him from that tank for a while]; i'm a real beginner with fish caring:[

Bettas are not ideal starters to be honest due to there fussiness with other fish, most tend to keep males alone. See if you can get a cheap 5 galish tank (3 gal minimum ideally) for your Betta, both he and the Angel will be much happier :)

He started to develop some whiten fuzz under his chin, I began a furan2/ick treatment yesterday morning, did a water change today, he was looking rough, but stable, sad to say though he didn't make it T_T

I'm so sorry for your loss. I myself have lost 3 bettas in the past couple of months :(
