k, my xenia is pink, and when i got it was a small frag. I see little baby xenia shoots on the rock now, but some of them are almost like a maroon color, not pink. what gives? will they change color the bigger they grow?

it could be a completly different species that grew on the rock when it was in the LFS.

so with that in mind, i went over to live aquaria and took a peek at their xenia pics, and my xenia is White pom pom, but the little ones look like silver branch xenia.

Looks like i may have snagged a two-fer :)

If it turns out that they are two different species, are there any problems with keeping them in that close proximity?

No problem with the proximity. Xenia can grow in a moss-like mat with no problem to neighboring colonies.
