yellow spots on blue gourami

i bought a gourami and didn't realize it had a yellow spot on its head til i allready put it in my tank. I thought it was a scab or something That was 3 weeks ago. Anyway, it hasn't changed at all since, and im' startiing to wonder what it is? do any of you know?

Does it glow in the dark, is it a golden colour.

It could be velvet a parasite.

In which case you could try to treat for ick (usualy works for velvet just as well) but it could just be an old scar or maybe he was just born with an unusual marking.
Out of curiosity, why did you ask if it glows in the dark Wilder? Does velvet glow in the dark?

Yes if it's a golden colour, they tell you to turn the light out and shine a torch to see if it glows up, especially with goldfish i've been told.

Could also be a new colour trait. If the male doesn't get sick from this then exploit this trait until you have gold capped gourami genes.
