Yellow Meeki

Does anyone know anything about these? I just picked one up from the lfs. But trying to dig up information on this little guy is next to impossible. Some sites were referring it as a firemouth. Are these the same fish? They do look similar in pictures.

many years ago there was a yellow form of the common firemouth cichlid (Cichlasoma meeki). It was a firemouth with pale yellow instead of red. It was kept and bred in exactly the same way the normal coloured fish are kept. Personally I didn't think they were as nicely coloured as the original form, but each to their own
