Well it have been while since I have posted. It that all my posts and my origional userid were erased sometime last month. Tried contacting the forum administrator and got no responce.

I am back and have an update on my breeding yellow labs.

The female did well in the 5 gallon tank and released 12 fry, they are all about 1/2 inch long and doing fine. I put the mom back in the main tank and about a week later she had a clutch of eggs in her mouth again! I don't understand why they keep breeding, I even added a second male to try to deter the breeding. The tank is overstocked and it amazes me that they find the time and privacy to spawn. :dunno:

Instead of males, add females so that the same ones don't breed too often - fish that are forced to breed excessively will slowly suffer from it. No matter what, unless you remove all of the males, you will always have holding Labs - it can't be helped, they'd breed in a toilet!

As I am chasing down the one female lab to put her in the breeding net tonight I discover that BOTH my female labs are holding!
