Ok...so. Ive just recently set up my Co2 generation system for my new 10 gallon planted tank. The problem is that i can't seem to get the yeast to react and create a constant flow of Co2 into the tank. I have checked my tubing for leaks and none exist. I have tried a bunch of different methods but none seem to get a good yeast reaction in about an hour like most resources have said. Any tips on mixtures or processes would be great.

Cheers!

It could take longer than an hour to get to the point where you start seeing the bubbles especially if the room is a bit chilly? Also check the temperature of the water when you fill up the container, it should be warm but not hot. The other thing is make sure your yeast is fresh, if the packet has been open a while i find it doesn't work as well.

Around what temperature do you think the water that will be mixed with the yeast should be at?

I use 2 hydor natural co2 units in my tank and when adding a new mixture it sometimes takes about 12 hours to produce bubbles. Allow about 24 hours and if nothing happens make a new mixture.

I use tank water in my mixture as it recommends in the hydor instructions to use water of a temp I think of 24c - 29c.

Hey guys! Thanks for the tips on the yeast mixture. I did in fact get it going (finally!). I think that there was a problem on my seal at the top of the 2 liter bottle that i was using, but im not for sure. What i ended up doing was completely removing my gas seperation chamber and running the tubing that hooks up with the diffuser straight to my yeast generation chamber. I did this for the sake of gaining more information on the way i was mixing my yeast. While its running right now i am going to test the other tubing lines that run from gas seperation chamber to the diffuser. But anyhow if anyone has any comments on my ideas they are more than welcome. Hopefully i can get some pics of the tank up in the coming days. Thanks for the help on the mixture!!!

Cheers!! :good:
