Hi guys and girls

I recently took in some Yellow belly sliders(male and female i believe), i think they are roughly about 6-7months old, there currently residing in a 4 ft jewal tank, water parimeters are good etc. I have noticed some stuff on there underbellys and a bit on the top of the shells, on the males black under markings( its alot clearer as its white on black), im not sure if its shedding or somthing worse. the female also has it too, its not lose or slimey as i have tried to wipe it away, looks a little like when a snaked sheds, i maybe wrong thou.

Any thoughts ( sorry about the crappy iphone camera)

Sorry, but its very hard to tell with those pictures.

I'll cover the basics though - do you have a lid on your set-up? If so remove it. Terrapins need to be able to dry out completely to keep their shells and skin healthy and to allow them to shed normally. Ensure that they have a good heat lamp and a UV lamp and adequate basking space.

If you're already doing all of those things, or it doesn't clear up soon then let me know and see if you can get clearer photos.

Hope that helps,
Alex.
