hello there

i'm andy and i've recently(10 days ago) taken ownership of a previously thriving community of fish. the lovely lady that sold it to me had it in it's current form for 3 years. i'm from london (since september of this year).

in our 90 litre tank we have (i'm really sorry i have no concept of gallons)

4 marbled angels
1 very grouchey pleco
5 large tetra's with red fins whose names elude me (help please!)
4 littler tetra's whose names also elude me, they have a bright orange flash down their sides (help please!)
2 albino corydora's that are hilarious
1 sighted corydora who's funny because he eggs the blindies on!
1 clown loach who's permanently on a caffiene high
2 small keyhole cichlids
1 large cichlid called freddie who's the king of the tank(pictures coming up soon)

i have an external fluval(not entirely sure what the fluval bit does...help please!) filter, heater, bubble curtain and two lovely bits of bog wood. the plants are not doing too well so we're looking into new plants for the habit (help again please!).

-if anyone has any thoughts on over stocking/scope for more stock then please fire some this way!!

-also if anyone has any tips about buying stock/plants/anything related from london then please send some help this way!

a question i would like answered is this.... when we moved the fish and restocked the tank we positioned the bogwod and rocks in a rather foolish way. now that we've managed to keep them alive over this stressful period would we be potentially damaging the fishes environment if we were to move the furtniture???

i wasn't sure i could type something this long...wow!

glad to be part of the gang! happy new year!

freddie is central in this pic B)

also on the above pic you can see the heater is a bit slanty...will it make much difference or do i need to attach it somehow to the side of the tank?

:D proud parents but there's scope for better!

Hi bennett, very nice tank :) I usually put my heater(s) where water will flow around it. Makes it more efficient. You don't want the heat just rising to the top.

cheers :D

that was my thought. to put the heater closer to the filter outlet? moving the furniture good or bad idea?

i want some tall plants to go on either side of the tank and then i think i'm set up...until bigger and better things

Hi Andy
Thought that your bigger tetra may have been Columbian red fin and the smaller glowlight but I dont think so now from looking at your tank--the eyesights not what it used to be.
If you post in the tetra section someone will probably be able to ID them for you
Anyway,welcome to the forums :)
Moving the decor dosent do any harm at all.

Yup. *nods*

Looks like a very good tank. As for the ornament moving, I suppose it is up to you. Since they might set up territories between the time you set up the tank again and when you reorganize, I would suggets sooner than later. Just an opinion.

As for the heater, next to the outlet would be the best place since the circulation of the water would heat up the entire tank.

See you around :fun:

hey guys

good thinking weaver! there are sections for a reason andy! dur me

the pleco is the only one that's definitely got it's own space. it sleeps in a bit of a bogwood stump that has a section cut out...lazy big thing

next time i clean them i'll move the things around, by them i'll have some new plants to put in aswell so that'll be it all set up

does it look a bit sparse to you guys? is there much scope to get some more fish?

Hello Andy and welcome to the forum. :hi:

There isn't any reason why you can't move the plants and wood around. Some people do it on a regular basis anyway. As already mentioned, it might be better to do it soon so the new territories don't have to be established.
