***EDIT***

Hi All, took a bit of time, but finally got a better pic of the big bristlenose, and a pic of the bulldog too.

I've seen all the bristlenoses feeding on courgette (except the pitbull, he still prefers wafers, but will stop eating and freeze if he see's me looking at him, even from accross the room, lol!)

Heya all,

I still cannot get a decent pic of my orginal pitbull, he just will not lay still for a minute! He's SO active in the new tank...

Anyway, I popped some courgette in an hour ago, and one of the bristlenoses got the idea straight away :)

I also manage to get a pic of the larger 'bristlenose' though, I'm really starting to worry (now that it's coloured back up) that it might not be one? Just can't get a clear look at him... again sorry for the dodgy picture, he's the most nervous of all, what do you think?

Cheers all!

I'm not convinced the second is a BN from that photo, try and get another if possibe (I know it is difficult!)

See if you can get a pic of the tail as well as this may help because i was sold a plec recently and they sed it was a bn but it was a common plec
:)

Cheers all :)

I've just installed the new external filter, so they haven't forgiven me yet ;p lol.

Hopefully theyll calm down while I'm out (at petsathome - buying yet more fish food ;p)

that second one looks exactly the same as my BN, how brill are they : )

it could be a female which would explain the lack of bristles - males are much more bristlier than females.

Ahhh I see :)

Cheers!

Still can't get a photo, but when they are together they look identical.

I think I managed to purchase 2 females, will have to wait and see if the tiny one (about 2 cm) is a male or female....

I would love it if they bred one day, but I fear 23'C is unlikely to promote this! ;p

The males wont develop bristles until at least 5cm or more, be careful when handling adults as both male and females have really sharp "bristles" on either side of their head that they can flare out at will. Talking from experinece these hurt and are a right royal pain to disnetangle when caught in a net.
