Yawning/Eyes Popping

My green tiger barb Speedy has been acting wierd today. Im not sure if i just didnt notice it before but he is yawning and when he does that his eyes sort of bulge out. the nitrites are pretty high in the tank right now (long story but i'm working on them and they'll be down asap), but i didnt know if this wierd behaviour is as a result of that or if he's gagging or yawning or what!? throw me a bone here guys!! thanks for all your help! ~sar

ps. i just added some rock thingys to the tank too, like made a little fish playground, just throwing that out there in case they can be allergic to it or something! thx!

my tigers occasionally do that 'yawn'- mouth open eyes popping fin right up thingy too, but only occasionally, it always makes me smile
but nitrites in your tank are toxic to fish & will hurt them, need to do a partial water change asap!
