Does anybody know about breeding? i.e are they easy/difficult to breed

I've moved my shoal into a tank of there own and they seem to be showing a hell of a lot mating activity lately... not to mention growing a lot too!

thanks in advance.

They are easy to breed. They are not really a blackwater species, so the usual hassles with keeping the pH steady at almost zero hardness are avoided. In water which is clean, mildly acidic, say 6.5 and fairly soft, say less then 50ppm they will scatter viable eggs which hatch in 24 hours and are free swimming after 5-6 days at 25C.

The fry are small, but not excessively so, so whatever feed regime you use when breeding egglayers should be sufficient.

They are a species I would recommend for a "first tetra" for breeding.
