This is just a reminder of the importance of having a drip loop on anything you need to plug in. This weekend my bf went down to visit the fish, like we often do. When he heard a funny noise. He looked down to see the power bar arching(throwing sparks everywhere) The plug for the lights was melting into the bar, and if we hadnt found it when we did there could have been a fire for sure. Very scary. For some reason the power bar didnt click off like it was supposed to. Anyway we are pretty sure that some water must of run down the cord and onto the bar. So I thought I should pass the story along, to remind everyone to just give your plugs a look tonight before you hit the sack.

I don't have to worry about that my mother ALWAYS turns off every plug in the house at the wall every night before she goes to bed and there's nothing anyone can do to stop her! She's a safety freak :rolleyes: Although it doesn't seem to affect my fish :thumbs:

>>> turns off every plug

Hmmm, that is a very bad idea with a trop tank.

This I've told her but she won't listen :X Can't wait to get a place of my own!

Doesnt that shut your filter off?

Yeah it does but I guess she cares more about her family than my fish! It doesn't seem to hurt them though.
