firstly, none of the stores around here sell bowls. boooooo. my LPS- the one i work at- DOES have these nifty round mini-tanks called Aquateriums. they have three in gallon size, one in three gallon size. =D
secondly, the owner of the store is going to restock the tanks on Tuesday. what does that mean? Ammer finally gets her Sun Salamanders! if she can find them, Jennifer (store owner) is going to buy me a breeding pair =)
thirdly i was in the dollar store and saw these funny candle holders. they're made for that anyway. it's like a small ceramic bowl with a platform on top. it's hollow and has a hole cut into the back; the perfect Betta cave for only two dollars! it's purple and blue and has a cute white fishie on the back, and the top platform is connected to the 'main chamber' and fills with air when the cave is submersed, so even if fishie gets stuck fishie will have *SOME* air supply =) of course, it doesn't FIT in the damn wedge-tank so i've got to get a new one.
looking at these three things, i've come to this conclusion.
if Jennifer gets my Sun Salamanders i will buy the three gallon and divide it and filter it, this way when i want to breed the fish and they're ready i just pull out the divider and voila; instant fishie-meeting. if i get the three gallon for the Salamanders, Pierce will get himself a nice gallon bowl. if she can't find the Salamanders Pierce gets the three gallon ALL TO HIMSELF. and perhaps a trio of Cories. the wedge will go to a trio of Guppies. each and every Betta will get three silk plants and the same funky ceramic cave (in different colors)
