Was walking past the cray's tank first thing this morning, and spotted a dark shape in the corner that looked out of place.Turned on the light and for a second or two I thought I was seeing things.I could see the cray near his favorite big rock. And in the corner was his perfectly intact and freshly moulted double
I'd never seen one moult before and had no idea how completely they renew themselves, claws and legs and everything.I can even see the old "feelers".I had been a bit worried about him,as he was not as active and seemed rather darker around the claws. But now he is a new creature and the very picture of health. My boy was thrilled when I showed him this morning, though at first he thought there was something wrong. But when I explained he was fascinated
The ghost shrimp are all over the shed craysuit so I guess I will leave it for a bit.But not for too long as it will probably start to yuck up the tank.Any suggestions from other cray keepers would be appreciated.I kind of thought the moulted part had important minerals needed by the cray but he isn't anywhere near it.
Koda
