An Oscar will try to eat pretty much anything in its tank, now with snails, some of the smaller ones might go un-noticed in the substrate and could live freely, the larger variety of snails would be a challenge to the Oscar, even if he didnt eat it, he would find immense pleasure in using it as a play thing, which would kill it, but he may not necessarily eat it.
