hi all
ive been reading through the betta section and i just love the way,
you all talk about the betta i totaly agree with you all bout how,
the bettas are kept in shops i could bring them all home they look so sad at the bottom of them cups ive had bettas b4 a few yrs ago and they were so lovely
2 watch,but i gave my tanks up bout 3yrs ago but my brothers got me back
in2 it lol ive got an 18g tank cycling at mo but ive got a 10g tank (was selling it)
but with reading so much bout bettas im going 2 section it and make to 5g tanks
with it and have 2 bettas but just need some advice on how my set up sud b
with it being in 2 sections
1 do i need 2 internal filters or will 1 do any 1 recommend a make
2 how bout the heater ive got a 75watts 1 for this 10g tank
under ground filter
would be helpful with sum advice from you betta lovers cheers

I think the main benefit of doing it this way (seperating one tank) is that you only need the one tank, one filter, one heater.

Depending on how the partition is fixed, you may be better off replacing the UG filter as this may make cleaning easier...

I did read in a thread a while back about two bettas on either side of a partition tearing their own tails / fins in frustration at not being able to fight but knowing the other was there - Must stress however that a lot of people here seem to have done the divider thing with no problems. I guess its just important to remember that the Betta's personalities are all different so guess theres always a slim chance...

I would say 1 heater and filter, but a small one that you can adjust the current preferrably. The heater size sounds suffecient and you should get them some plants, and if you get artificial, try to get silk or cloth type because some plastic plants have jagged edges and can tear your bettas fins.

thanks 4 advice ive only got silk plants in my 18g they look nice well better than plastic anyway
