I plan to use some tonic aquarium salt to help heal my bettas fins, would it affect my plants? I have a coconut cave with Java Fern and Java Moss plus bogwood with Spiky Moss.

If it does kill them can I just keep my plants in a bucket of water for a week while he's treated? Or is that no good?

You shouldn't be using enough salt to affect the plants… but as it happens to be, Java moss and Java ferns grow quite well in brackish water for some people.

ahhh thanks so much for that. It's only to help his fins along as he shredded them to bits from stress. So I can just follow the instructions and go ahead and do it?

Yes, do premix the salt with tank water and increase the salinity slowly (remember to decrease it slowly when you're done).
