I've got a 150w in a 24 x 15 x20 so I would say yes.

i would only use 50w if ur 150w has a problem and it gets stuck on then well ur fish haven't learned a new trick they'll be boiled happend to me onece so i use 2 heaters that are half the size i need so i'd get 2 25w heaters instead of a 50w

An 18" cube is roughly 25 gallons.

Generally, a 100W or 150W heater would be recommended for a tank that size (depending on the maximum temperature difference between the tank that the surrounding room).

So, I think the 150 would be fine.
