Hi folks, I was wondering if a 14 gallons tank (24 x 12 x 12) would be too big for 1 male Betta. It would have no other fish and have a bottom layer of Java Moss.

What kind of betta? If the finnage is extensive, he may get stressed by the space, so you'll probably want denser and taller planting than Java moss can offer. However, so long as the current is mild and there are plenty of things for him to hide and rest on, he should be pretty happy. And you could always downsize if he is too stressed by the space. :good:

Thanks RandomWiktor, It would be a Crown Tail. Would 14g be too big for 1 Crown Tail? Would 5g (18 x 9 x 9) with Java Moss be better for 1 male Betta? Also, since you have pointed out about Java Moss being too short, would a 18 x 9 x 9 be alright with Java Moss or would the 5 g also require taller plants?
