I'm so worried I'm going to mess this up. I've gone in with both feet and bought 15 fish as otherwise what was the point of cycling the tank for 40 days but if I make a mistake it'll be costly. My tank must be smothered in Nitrates which is normal after a cycle so going to do the big water change on Tuesday morning. Shall I disconnect the filter and empty that water too? as I was going to put a new carbon filter in? But my main worry is the PH as it is only 7 at the moment but this is because of the nitrate because before it was at 8 with all the rock. I dose my tank on a morning so this means the bacteria will get no ammonia for 48 hours is this too long? Should I swap dosing to evening? so many questions
