Okay, i have a pleco that recently has been jus hiding under a rock for like 3 days straight, i kno hes alive because i shook the rock and he swam out. When he swam out i noticed that like he almost had stripes in his colors, liek a lighter brown in some areas and a dark brown in others. It didnt look very natural and im afraid he might die, because i had an algae eater already die in my tank about a month ago. I dont know what could have caused it. I did see my oscar go after the pleco however when i scared him out of the rock. I wonder if its the oscars doing, but he doesnt bother the smaller clown loches in the tank. I thought plecos were supposed to be hardy. Can anyone explain what is going on to me?

My readings are: Ammonia:0 Nitrite:0 pH:6.0-6.2 Nitrate:20

Sounds like stress colouration.
Is this the smaller of the two plecs? Plecs can be territorial and a grumpy Oscar won't help.
Have you been feeding overnight?

Sounds like stress to me too, plenty of hiding spaces.

There is only one pleco, he has a lot of hiding places

Whats the other plec in your profile? You should update your avatar otherwise things could get confusing ;) .
Anyhoo, yes i agree the striped/lighter coloration is from stress. Try creating more hiding places plotted around the tank and make some nicely densely planted areas, it should make the plec feel more secure if it can get from one side of the tank to the other side with plenty of hiding places inbetween if it needs to go in one  .
What have you tried feeding the so far and what type of plec is it?
The best time to catch your fish out bullying others, is to observe the tank anytime after the lights have been turned off for half an hour or more, most fish are at their most active when tank lights are off  .
