Hi

After redoing my tank and cleaning out filter I have discovered what looks like an earth worm (it is alive!) in between some of the filter sponges!? should I be worried?

Jay

if you can get a clear picture of the worm and approx sizes that would be helpful.

Also just for good measure, your test readings, andy recenty additions to the tank and whether or not your feed live food or have done in the past.

Also, what fish do you have?

Hi thanks for the reply

Water stats
Ammonia - 0
nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 10

No don't feed live food.

Fish:
Cardinals - 10
Black Phantoms - 10
Ember tetra - about 20
Bolivian ram - 2

cant see it being a tubifex worm as OP doesnt feed live food.

when was the last addition to your tankj and what was it?

Now that's interesting. To repeat, what was the last live thing you put in your tank and when?

Last additions would have been cardinals probably 2-3 months ago. I have been a bit slack on filter cleaning and haven't done it for about 2 months. I have added plants recently, but this thing is quite big and I would have noticed it if it came in with the plants surely!!

Maybe not if it was wrapped around the roots and quite a bit smaller. It's been dining on a smorgasbord in that filter!
