Hello Everybody,

I got my tank and most of my setup today. I bought it from a friend who used to keep tf about 3yr ago, I have heater, external filter, background, stand, light. So all i need is something to go on the base. What does anybody reccomend?

Also i need to know how much water my tank will hold, Can anybody tell me the working out please? 36"X14"X12"

you just times all all 3 legnths together so you have 6048" cubed of water capacity

also what do you mean by the base? like a substrate like gravel?

Here you go,

Dimensions 91 x 36 x 30cm/36" x 14" x 12
Surface area 0.33 sqm/3.55 sq ft/ inches sq in
Volume 99 l./22 gal. (26.15 US gal.)
Probable volume 89 l./20 gal. (24 US gal.)

I am sure there'll be lots of advice on substrate to follow, but it will depend on what type of set up you will want to go with. Play sand is popular and is the cheapest option.

Volume is easy in metric units because a volume is directly related to the units used for length. 1000 cc is about a liter. In US units, a cubic foot is very close to 7.5 gallons so if you figure the volume in cubic feet just multiply the result by 7.5. It will give a more accurate volume estimate than the numbers they put on the tank at the store.
