I saw this on a website and I'm thinking of replacing my ugly dinosaur air decoration with it. I read that the bubbles are super fine. But is it ok to use in a freshwater tank? I read on someone's site (fish enthusiast) that a wooden airstone should never been used in a freshwater tank but I thought some here had one.

I made the mistake of using a wooden airstone in a freshwater tank, a few years ago. They go black and rot away. Better to stick to the stone variety.

ew sounds nasty. Thanks-I will stick with the regular kind.

Unless you particulaly like the effect airstones give, or unless you have a specific reason for having air injection, you could simply remove the thing altogether.
