hi i have juwel rio 400 i want to put a nice large piece of wood in there, can i use any type tree if so what would i have to do to the branch to make it suitable for the tank?

Don't take wood directly from trees as the sap and sugars it contains may foul or poison your tank. Wood that has been on the ground quite a while or has washed up from an unpolluted stream or river can be used but must be thoroughly scrubbed and boiled for quite a while. Do not use cedars, firs and other similar softwoods.
