Woah! Have You Ever Seen This?

I knew it was an Arowana Species, beautiful fish though. The name kind of sounds like Arrow You wanna? Well thats a funny similarity. :shifty:

-Arrowhead :ninja:

:/ It kinda looks like it's sticking out it's tongue. very oddball though...i guess...this fish makes me feel awkward, i don't know why. I'll just stop typing before i embarass my self. I can't even spell.............tgue;bnejab;e;fjabaebbvgjej;evgnj;;nenr

Apartently "Spoon" head's are worth alot of money here in Aus? Dunno bout in the UK. :)

The spoon head is usually considered to be a result of poor breeding or the wrong diet being given to the fish and as such specimins with spoon heads are considered worthless, the back should run straight through into the head with no hump or curves, there is a guide to what a show quality (and therfore breeding quality) Asian arowana should look like on the arowfanatics site (you can find it yourselves, i'm not a fan of the site so i dont have a link). The fish in that picture goes beyond spoon headedness into the realms of being deformed, a decent breeder would have culled the fish as soon as the deformity started to show, but unfortunately there is now a high demand for "unique" looking fish so deformed specimins are now fetching high prices, so much so that some farms are now deliberately breeding deformed fish as a means to make more money. This doesnt go just for arowana's either with Asian fish farms producing many deformed species such as short bodied peacock bass and paroon sharks and stingrays with heart shaped discs which all fetch high prices on the Asian market.

Yeah, Thats what I was thinking when I was looking at it. I was wondering why it looks weird and that thing thats coming out of its mouth, I wouldnt pay a dollar for it, well actually maybe but not more than 5dollars for it. -_-

those are it's feelers which any arowana will have, you can see them on my arowana in my sig.

the color on it looks photoshopped too. suspiciously large contrast between that rich blue background and bright red fish. the red is also too matte for my liking.

none of my money, thankyewverymuch

Wholly Crap, some actually paid $4,000 for the fish. I have never seen an Arrowana shaped like that in my life, I have been around fish for more then 20 years, so I have seen plenty of them, what type is it and what is a "King Chilly" anyway? ????
