hopefully someone with some better elctrical knowledge than me will know :good:

no i didnt but it doesnt mater ive actually read the electrical drawing on the ballast and it makes sence now cracked it and its working :good:

At the bottom of the picture is a series of 4 way connectors... this is where you connect the tube end caps, each has 2 wires, so for each 4 way block you connect 2 sets of leads, doesnt matter which way round you connect the 2 wire from each lead, but for "prettyness" I would go, say, BROWN BLUE BROWN BLUE etc.
The 4 way blocks (white plastic things) look like they have barbed inlets so be SURE you have the right holes - they are fiddly to get the wire out again ! Also easier to get the wires in if they are "tinned" ie have a little solder on the bare wire end, which yours have = just push the wires into the white connector until the brown/blue insulation prevent the wire going any further.
Each white block HAS to be connected to a single tube, so I would lable them in pairs - "tube 1" etc ...
Theres NO need to use all the tubes at once, so just wire up one, and test it... you should be fine, its dead easy and you wont be transported to another dimension if you get it wrong, it simply wont light.

The mains side of the wiring looks sorted already ? If not, please feel free to ask !

Bah - just spent an age writing this, then you posted its sorted after I posted !! LOL glad you had a bit of the pioneer spirit :good:

The basic wiring for a fluorescent lamp with a ballast and starter switch is this.

Code:
			  Power Switch	+-----------+
 Line 1 (L) o------/ ----------| Ballast |-----------+
							  +-----------+ |
													  |
					  .--------------------------.	|
 Line 2 (N) o----------|- Fluorescent -|----+
					  | ) Tube ( |
				  +---|- (bipin) -|----+
				  | '--------------------------'	|
				  | |
				  | +-------------+ |
				  | | Starter | |
				  +----------| or starting |----------+
							 | switch	|
							 +-------------+

Thus you should connect the first end cap to the left most of each group of four, and the end cap for the other end of the same lamp to the right most pair of the same group of four, (i.e. "Lamp 1").
