Hi Guys! Just a quick question.. I am ordering a filter heaters etc, for my new tank as well as plants from on the internet. The plants are likely to arrive a good week before the filter and heaters. Will the plants survive being put in the tank of water for a week?

The plants are just the basic kind of selection pack!

Many Thanks! :)

A week shouldn't affect most plants. As long as there exists some light, water, nitrates, and CO2 I'll risk it and say they should be alright.

One week won't hurt 'em.

Plants actually act as a filter except create a current. Without adequate water circulation some forms of algae will have a field day. I believe it's blue green algae (cyanobacteria) that takes over in 'stagnant'/still water.

You shouldn't have to worry about that in just a week's time.

They should be fine, but as bangin mentioned, if you have an air stone/pump, you might want to have that running. If not, I wouldn't worry about it.
