WILL YOU SELL YOUR BACTERIA??

Is there any chance, anyone on here would sell me some established filter media or gravel, i know this may sound absolutely ridiculous, but i dont know who else to ask.

Boots dont sell NH3, we looked for what seemed like a lifetime but to no avail and i wouldnt trust my judgement to use a cleaning product.

Bearing in mind you would have to live in the UK, please help, and would it survive the journey, by post?? I asked at the local LFS, but they said it was against policy, incase anything happened to my tank/fish bought etc etc

I don't think it would survive unless it was someone who lived very close to you.

Did you ask for amonia in Boots? It was the same when I was trying to find Epsom salts, I had to ask.

Maybe PM gixer and see if he would pick some up for you and send it in the post because it was him that said it was available in Boots.

Well i asked the lady in boots, if she had any pure ammonia, to which she replied, sorry, after i repeating it a couple of times she went off to ask someone else, then came back with her colleague and asked what it was for with a disapproving look ?? so i explained, she said my best bet was a petstore, but i told her i'd heard boots were the only stockists in the UK.

Anyways she showed me an isle and said if we have any then it will be up there, i kept searching for ages but to no avail, she must have felt a little guilty at fobbing me off, because she came back and helped me search, i told her that i'd heard it was called nh3, she said well its clearly not here, and just sort of left me standing there extremely disappointed.

Thats a good ideal Cheese Specialist, does he have to be online (or is he now)??

He doesn't have to be online for you to pm him. Just go to search up the top of the page and search for gixer.

I'm sure he'll help you. If not, someone has just put another topic up about where they have managed to get it.

Pandapops, I am happy to post you a bottle of the Ammonia I sourced if you are having trouble getting hold of it (see my other post).

Also, my husband asked in Boots about ammonia and the woman there said they don't keep it in the store it has to be ordered in?! I think it is something to do with needing a licence to keep certain chemicals. My brother works in a chain of hardware stores and they stopped stocking it because of the licence required (shame I hadn't got a stock in from him in advance though!).

OK, no probs. It's pretty cheap anyway £2.65 for a bottle - don't know how much you want though...but the recipe talks about drops so I guess one bottle should be enough for most tanks!
