Will Two Females Do Okay

I have three cherry barbs, 1 male and 2 females. My male is sick and i'm not being a downer but I was just considering what would happen if he died. Would my two females still get along alright? Now they swim together and the male is usually by himself. They are the only fish in my ten gallon and when I add more fish i'd like to have something other than cherry barbs. Will an all female pair work okay and what other fish could I add?

Two females should be OK together... Add small corydoras maybe... many small fish will be fine with cherry barbs...
