ok, so i got some ammonia for a fishless cycle but then I forgot to check the ingredients :/

this is what it has...

ammonium hydroxide, anionic sufactant, non-ionic surfactant, opacifier, clarifying agent, salts

will this work, or do i need pure ammonia? and what exactly is pure ammonia?

I don't think it'll work if it's got surfactants in it.

Here is a quick test: shake up the bottle, look inside, if it's frothed up then it can't be used for a fishless cycle.

"Pure ammonia" is exactly that. just...ammonia. and water.

I saw some at Wall-Mart looked like a cheap brand and it had 3 things in it:

Water, ammonia and clarifying agent The only reason I didn't get it was "clarifying agent" is that ok?

The ammonia I buy doesn't have any ingredients listed, because it's pure ammonia. I would be wary of using anything other than pure ammonia. Where are y'all located? In the US, pure ammonia is readily available at places like Menard's, Home Depot, Lowe's, etc.

Sweet, this should be part of a stick on where to get ammonia, "lowes or Home Depot" I tried 2 places and couldn't find it thinking it was small hardware store or grocery store and here I find out it is down the street at Lowes I was at Lowes 3 times this week! I thought it was a hard to find item that lowes wouldn't have.
