I was just wandering will a Simease fighting fish and head and tail tetras mix with Guppies???
The reason I ask is because once i've got my tank cycled I want to encourage breeding and I want some livebearers (so I can see their young) and I know that Guppies are livebearers (or at least that's what I got told! :/ ).

Will they mix??

Nope, bettas don't mix with guppies. I'd get at least 3 more of the tetras though, they need to be in schools of 6+.

yeah, bettas usually dont get along with guppies. I dont know how well they get along with other livebearers like platties, mollies, or swordtails though

Problem with male bettas is they are going to think anything else with long flowing fins is another male betta and needs to be eliminated from this earth.

I've kept guppies with bettas before fine but bettas can get nippy. If you keep them in a spacious tank with plenty of things to hide behind or under the betta should keep to himself. Another way you can stop them from bullying one is by adding a few... By sharing the bullying between them no one of them will be under constant stress all of the time.

Added a betta in yesterday and it seems fine with my platy's they were very curious of it at first and spent alot of time swiming up and infront of the Betta almost taunting it, was very amusing to watch :) they seem now to have accepted it and leave alone :)
