I have a 35L tank and would like a couple of small corys to keep it clean however I have fine sand which is sloped up to the back but it doesn't take much for it to slide down again.
Would corys cause a mini avalanche? Or would I be better with a couple of otos or something, albeit, they won't clean up around the floor of the tank will they? Or shrimp? They will be in with a pair of kribs which are moving in from my main tank so I don't know if they would get eaten :S
Confused!!
Thanks for your help :D

Hi hensonc4098 :)

I don't know what you have been led to believe, but corys will move the top layer of sand in search of lost bits of food. They don't eat fish waste or dying plant matter.

This kind of movement is about what you can expect:

Your tank is only about 9 gallons, and since corys are schooling fish, you should plan to get several of them. It might not be a good idea to put the kribs in too.

i think you'd be wise to rethink your stocking of that tank and do a bit more research on the kribs needs
i know you have them already but they can grow to 4" and so need about 20 gallon tank for a pair else you might have trouble

just mentioning it :) not being picky

take care sarah x
