i got them in the post but they looked pretty crushed. will they survive? anything i can do to help?

If they are missing more than 1/3 of the shell then they will probably die. It's probably best to put them in a small bag of water and freeze them.
I would contact the supplier and send them a pic. They should send you some replacements free of charge.

I would demand a refund. Those snails are in terrible shape and will likely die.

How were they shipped?

show the pictures to the seller - those poor snails will not survive for long
i've had some that have fallen out of the tank and have minor cracks on their shells and that has taken months to finally heal over

so sorry you've been messed around by the seller it's a shame for those snails having to suffer --
i've got some clutches ready to hatch and if you pm me i'll keep a couple back for you - if they all hatch ok - dont use that seller again hun - damand a refund
